Renovation projects always have a unique set of obstacles. The Thomasville Ford project was no different. Construction involved the complete gutting and renovation of an existing structure and a new Service Building. The site is located in an area of Thomasville with outdated and substandard storm water infrastructure. Design requirements set by the City were a 25% reduction in peak storm water runoff from the site, while maintaining existing total impervious area. The design requirements were met by the incorporation of two storm water management areas into the site improvements. A storm drainage system consisting of pipes and inlets were also designed for the site. The end result was a site that reduced storm water impacts to neighboring properties, while also meeting all of the client’s needs.
